Handmade in Africa - How are these Animal print and Christmas pattern Candles made?

In the beautiful Kingdom of Swaziland in Southern Africa, fairly paid artisans make candles using the ancient millefiori technique. The process involves many steps and is labour-extensive.

Sheets of different coloured hard wax are poured and rolled into patterns, then stretched and re-rolled many times until the desired patterns are acquired. The thin sheets of wax are then cut into veneers and are skillfully applied by hand over a core of white wax and handmade into desired shapes. Beautiful patterned candles of many shapes and sizes are hand-moulded and sold for the benefit of the local community.

We are glad to bring two of their special candles to you. They are also a useful gift for festive occasions like Christmas or any other day. Being fragrance-free, these pillar candles burn for many hours radiating its beauty all around.
