Pride Month is an entire month dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (widely popular acronym is LGBTQ) culture, rights and voice. Each year a parade is organised in which various people from all walks of life celebrate LGBTQ community with vivid colours, sequins and decorations.
LGBTQ community often uses rainbow six-coloured flag as its symbol. It has red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Each colour in this flag has a symbolic meaning - red is for depicting life, orange is for depicting spirit, yellow is for depicting sunshine, green is for depicting nature, blue is for depicting harmony and purple is for depicting spirit.
Many businesses have come out with products which pay tribute to this flag in its product design and range. While a few big businesses are accused of "rainbow capitalism", not all business follow such practises. It is imperative that for the future of the world that we should all learn to deal with our differences in a positive light even when we agree to disagree. As rightly quoted by Mahatma Gandhi in his book “Peace: The Words and Inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi” - Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilisation.
